Oceana Gold is currently searching for an experienced Process Manager for their Haile site in South Carolina. In this role, the successful person will be responsible for all areas of process including the lab facility (KML), process operations and process maintenance. Reporting to the General Manager.

The Company
Globe 24-7 in partnership with Oceana Gold, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent for their gold processing facilities and mining operation at their Haile site in South Carolina. Oceana Gold Corporation is a mid-tier, low-cost, multinational gold producer with assets located in the Philippines, New Zealand and the United States.

The Role

  • Lead a team of professional and technical staff to maximize operational efficiencies in all areas of process with a focus on safety and environmental stewardship.

  • Lead the development of all maintenance and operating systems, procedures and protocols necessary for safe and efficient operation of all process facilities.

  • Support and promote an environment of participatory management and continuous improvement.

  • Investigate and implement opportunities to increase competitive advantages and align them with the organization's overall strategy.

  • Ensure the process department operates economically at a high level of technical performance.

  • Create and manage the operating budget including metal production.

  • Review projects and ensure the achievement of targets.

  • Develop and promote technical talent.

  • Develop systems and measures that appropriately assess the process team's performance.

  • Create and manage capital and operating budgets.

The Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of metallurgy experience in base and/or precious metals processing.

  • At least 5 years supervisory experience including operations, maintenance and/or technical/engineering staff.

  • BS in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other related field.

  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and methods used in complex metallurgical and processing systems and analyses.

  • Detailed knowledge of plant process control systems including advanced process control techniques.

  • Advanced knowledge of plant maintenance functions and requirements.

  • Detailed knowledge of operations budgeting and forecasting procedures.

  • Knowledge of capital projects management and execution.

  • Experience and thorough understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.

  • Advanced knowledge of Metallurgical accounting procedures and gold standards protocols.

  • Sound knowledge of participatory management practices including root cause analysis, SPC and lean manufacturing.

  • Proven experience in value addition.

  • Can solve even the toughest and most complex of problems; great at gleaning meaning from whatever data is available; is a quick study of the new and different; adds personal wisdom and experience to come to the best conclusion and solution, given the situation; uses multiple problem-solving tools and techniques.

  • Detailed knowledge of comminution, flotation, CIL, carbon handling, refining and cyanide destruction unit operations.

  • Advanced knowledge of analytical and metallurgical laboratory operations.

  • Good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs.
