Job Description:

Ambatovy Joint Venture operation in Madagascar, is recruiting an experienced Business Analyst Supervisor to oversee the identification and understanding of business requirement from all departments and be the link between operations and finance.

The Role

The Financial planning and analysis teams provides accurate financial information for each cost center in order for management to take the appropriate business decisions. They are the link between operations/support functions and finance.

The Responsibilities

  • Develop Financial budgeting, forecasting, planning within the company as required for quarterly forecast, annual budget and five-year plan

  • Oversee Monthly Reporting process, analysis and cost center meeting

  • Budget preparation with different departments

  • Budget management

  • Determine cost drivers for budget activities and include in dashboard and KPI's

  • Manage cost savings and costs improvement actions and validate amounts to be actioned and complete follow up

  • Analyse variances

  • Involved with the purchasing process to start the controls oversight variances between accruals

  • Assist the Financial Planning and Analysis Superintendent in the follow-up of key projects and initiatives to ensure their consistency with the expectations

  • Follow-up all on-going cost projects in all departments and insure their consistency with the Users' expectations

  • Ensure the correct policies and processes are in place for the financial planning and cost follow-up

  • Create method of work

  • Participate in ERP development

  • Team leader:

    • Manage, structure and recruitment of team

    • Add value to the work of direct reports (e.g. provide higher level expertise, resolve conflicts, remove obstacles)

    • Provide feedback and coach direct reports to improve their effectiveness in current position; implement development plan or invoke performance improvement plans, if necessary

  • HSEQ:

    • Be aware, understand and comply with the Ambatovy Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Policies and associated documentation

    • Understand the HSEQ risks relevant to area of responsibility and ensure the use of the Ambatovy risk framework

    • Participate in audits and inspections, as well as in the management of non-conformance, incident and actions as required

The Requirements

  • Strong management and leadership skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good knowledge of project management

  • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint) proficiency including the ability to work with complex and dynamic function

  • Strong knowledge of database systems, ERP

  • Previous experience in planning and reporting and/or cost control

  • Financial background with 7 - 8 years' Experience in business analysis in medium or big heavy industries

  • Experience in mining or manufacturing business is an asset

  • University Degree in Business or Administration

  • Fluency in English, with French language skills advantageous
