Job Description:

Globe 24-7, in partnership with a Canadian gold mining company, is looking for an experienced Underground Mine Supervisor for their underground operations in Northern Ontario.


The Company


The company is a mid-size mine gold producer located in Northern Ontario and is committed to delivering low-cost production, advancing its exploration and development pipeline, and maintaining a large resource and reserve base of quality assets to foster future production growth.


The Role


The Underground Mine Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating mining activities to meet production objectives in a safe and cost-effective manner.


The Responsibilities



  • Review production schedules to ascertain data such as types, quantities, and specifications of mining supplies necessary and schedule delivery dates in order to meet department objectives

  • Plan production operations, establish priorities and sequences for mobile and mining equipment

  • Prepare schedules and coordinate mining activities to ensure production and quality of product meets specifications

  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays

  • Inspect equipment and workplaces to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization

  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards

  • Interpret and communicate company policies to workers. Interpret specifications and job orders to workers and assign duties

  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product

  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase production efficiency

  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems

  • Maintain time and production records

  • Other duties, as may be assigned


The Requirements



  • Provincial certification as an Underground Mine Supervisor is required

  • Basic Hard Rock Common Core

  • Supervisory Common Core

  • Minimum 7 years underground mining experience of which 2-3 years were in a supervisory capacity

  • Proficiency with Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel)
