Job Description:

Ambatovy Joint Venture operation in Madagascar, is recruiting a well experienced Major Maintenance General Foreman who will be responsible for the planning and execution of major works (planned and unplanned), alterations and construction (mechanical, electrical, instrument and civil) across plant site, Port and Tailings. Support the Area Maintenance Superintendents to address backlog issues as well plays a critical role in managing the Asset Integrity programs throughout the site.

The Role


The Major Maintenance General Foreman will oversee the execution of major maintenance within the site. The position is essential in developing and standardizing best practices and implementing best practices and procedures. Leading the coordination with internal departments, external vendors, contractors and other service groups as well controlling the performance of contractors and vendors on site.


Responsibilities



  • Be aware of, understand and comply with the Ambatovy Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Policies and associated documentation.

  • Accountable for the execution of major maintenance activities including the management of contracts, contractors and the coordination between contract groups to achieve the required maintenance outcomes.

  • He/she is accountable for developing succession plans and promoting the development of nationals through the organization as the organization continues to right size.

  • Accountable for the development, planning, coordination and execution of major outages, including Pre and Post Turnaround reviews with the goal of ensuring that the maintenance activities have minimal impact on production schedules and throughput.

  • As a service organization he/she is responsible for providing collaborative support to all business units and accountable for the quality of services provided as being a support group.

  • Accountable for the monitoring of maintenance performance to ensure that standards of workmanship, quality and legislative requirements are met and maintained at the highest levels.

  • Responsible for the leadership and the continuous adherence to, and improvement of team safety processes and activities to secure world class occupational health and safety performance.


The Requirements



  • A Degree in Mechanical Engineering desired.

  • Relevant trade experience well regarded.

  • 5 to 10 years-experience in industrial maintenance at a supervisory level.

  • Experienced in contract administration and development.

  • Familiarity in project management, and contract management.

  • Maintenance experience along with reliability practices.

  • SMP experience is highly advantageous.

  • Prior experience in supervising a large maintenance organization in an integrated industrial setting.

  • Training and developing subordinates to assume positions of greater responsibility in the organization.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on Functional Cultural awareness.

  • Language skills: English is essential. French is highly advantageous.
