Job Description:

Ambatovy Joint Venture operation in Madagascar are recruiting an experienced Inspection Superintendent to assess the integrity and reliability of critical static equipment and piping.

The Role
The Inspection Superintendent will define the inspection policy in compliance with Ambatovy rules, regulations and national legislation as well as manage and coordinate the activities of the Quality Control and Inspection staff their activities.


Responsibilities



  • Be aware of, understand and comply with the Ambatovy Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Policies and associated documentation.

  • Provides direction to manage static equipment and welding quality control programs and implements Risk Based Inspection Plans for static equipment piping and accessories.

  • Ensures that the inspection policy is properly implemented, in compliance with relevant international and national best practice standards.

  • Implements and improves best practice QA/QC and Inspection manuals.

  • Assists third party representatives for the statutory inspections. Controls quality and quantity of subcontracted deliverables.

  • Ensures that repairs, modifications and procurement of equipment comply with the relevant regulations, Ambatovy rules, technical codes and norms.

  • Approves the recommendations for corrective or preventive remedial actions, ensures they are recorded, implemented and monitored.


The Requirements



  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Material with emphasis on material, metallurgy and corrosion.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in inspection related activities in repair / alteration / construction / maintenance / inspection of pressure equipment and welding, with 5 years' experience managing a team.

  • Good knowledge of international codes, standards and regulations related to the inspection discipline (American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Petroleum Institute, European Standards, National Board Inspection Codes, National Association Corrosion Engineers).

  • Good technical knowledge in the following:

    • NDT (Non-Destructive Tests) "Welding"

    • RBI (risk-based inspections) methodology

    • QA/QC and ISO 9001 implementation

    • Electrical norms and ISM Atex standards

    • Planning and project management skills.



  • Proven Training, development and knowledge transfer experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on Functional Cultural awareness.

  • Language skills: English is essential. French is highly advantageous.
