Job Description:

Globe 24-7, in partnership with an important Canadian gold mine, is looking for electricians, working in a residential role from Monday to Friday, in Northern Ontario.

The role
As part of the Maintenance team the Mechanic is an integral member supporting the safe and continuous Mining operation of the site. The Mechanis is considered capable and with qualification to install, repair and make good items in planned and unplanned maintenance. Working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), we have responsibility to ensure all information recorded is as accurate as possible.


The Responsibilities



  • Consistent with Maintenance Department Classification Guideline

  • Responsible for the maintenance of mine equipment and facilities to insure their maximum contribution to the safety, quality and productivity of the operation.

  • Assembles, adjusts sets-up, lubricates, and maintains/repairs all types of mining equipment.

  • Reads and interprets blueprints while carefully following manufacturer's instructions.

  • Carries out working orders related to the preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance plan of the operation.

  • Equipment removal, installation, alignment, troubleshooting and repair.

  • Ensures that the work areas, equipment and work practices comply with the regulatory codes, statutes and company requirements.

  • Liaises effectively with colleagues and managers regarding various work situations and the activities within the department.

  • Implement improvement programs to address non-compliances including hazard identification, risk assessment and positive behaviour reinforcement.

  • Ensure all hazards and sources of loss associated with specific work areas are identified, evaluated and controlled in accordance with policies and procedures to achieve the highest possible safety and environmental standards.


The Requirements



  • Mechanic License required.

  • Experience reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.

  • Experience in CMMS.

  • 5+ years' experience in similar role (Mining Equipment)

  • Working at heights

  • Be a problem solver and contribute with the performance of the whole team

  • Willingness to carry and lift up to 30Kg as capable

  • Occasional push/pull

  • Constant standing

  • Frequent walking over uneven ground both up and down gradient

  • Frequent working in awkward positions - squatting, kneeling, bent over, reaching

  • Strong focus on health and safety

  • Experience with maintenance heavy equipment, trucks and Off-road trucks is mandatory

  • Night Shift - Fatigue management

  • Ability to work in different environments and conditions: hot, humid, wet, dusty, and cold. Also, when Lighting is restricted and may be excessive noise

  • Willingness to relocate to Kirkland Lake or Timmins
