(This position will be located near Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of Congo)


Under general supervision, provides technical expertise, guidance and leadership in engineering project management.


Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Reviews and analyzes project requirements to establish tasks and subtasks and project timelines. Responsible for planning and executing the safety, engineering, procurement, construction, and customer service for a project.

    1. Works on complex issues and is directly responsible for the implementation of solutions that align with the Company’s business goals and targets.

    2. Coordination across multiple disciplines is required as well as directing Consultants and Engineers.

    3. Required to get involved in the field to ensure proper scoping and implementation of projects.

  2. Assembles and supervises project staff. Manages supervisors or mid-level professional individual contributors. Ensure FCPA compliance with personnel.

  3. Creates and maintains a database of project tasks and assignments.

  4. Compiles and reports to management regarding project status. Monitor work performance and institute cost controls for a project. Contributes to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for project management.

  5. Serves as technical expert on project management issues. Works under limited supervision and has significant latitude to set objectives, priorities and timelines that may affect a group or functional area within the company. Reports to the General Manager. Interacts with other managers and superintendents as well as support personnel located in other company locations.

  6. Evaluates and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment. Responsible for the scope, cost, schedule, safety, and customer satisfaction associated with a project. Prepares budget for review by others by pulling all components together and making recommendations.

  7. Maintains current working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations. Provides guidance and counsel to site management team on applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.

  8. May represent the site on company-sponsored steering teams.

  9. Performs other duties as required.
