Supervise, coordinate, provide technical assistance, guidance and leadership for employees working with automation systems to optimize plant processes through strategic use of plant data and automation.

  • Monitor and coach employees to ensure safe work environment
  • Plan and coordinate daily and longer-term work, monitor employee actions, track employee training and plans future training needs
  • Provide technical assistance with automation system operations and maintenance
  • Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
  • Maintain current working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations
  • Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations
  • Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts
  • May represent the site on Company-sponsored steering teams
  • Order parts and other supplies as required
  • Keep track of Process Automation equipment obsolescence and develops plans to replace equipment prior to it becoming obsolete
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of technical experience in an area or areas relevant to Process Automation, including project management experience and electrical safety; OR
  • Associate's degree and (5) years of technical experience in an area or areas relevant to Process Automation, including project management experience and electrical safety; OR
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical area similar to Process Automation and at least (3) years of technical experience in an area or areas relevant to Process Automation, including project management experience and electrical safety
  • Three (3) years of experience must include working with PLCs and/or DCSs
