General Supervisor Electrical Breakdown


Ambatovy Nickel Cobalt operations in Madagascar is currently searching for a General Supervisor Electrical Breakdown ensure electrical equipment breakdowns are handled quickly and efficiently so that production downtime is limited.

The Role


The General Supervisor Electrical Breakdown provides a timely response and satisfactory conclusion in operational equipment recovery.


The Responsibilties



  • Be aware, understand, communicate and comply with the Ambatovy Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Policies and associated documentation.

  • Assigns job tasks and working schedules.

  • Develops maintenance breakdown procedures.

  • Provides technical guidance to working crews.

  • Provides support to Area Electrical out with breakdown recovery.

  • To withdraw electrical equipment from service if found to be non-conformed.


The Requirements



  • Technical Degree or Diploma Electrical is required. ATEX certification is preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in overall electrical preventative maintenance, with 5 years at Supervisory level.

  • Proven experience in the following:

    • LV HV max 11 KV, transformers

    • Rockwell VSD Software

    • Thesis relays

    • Calibration of Conveyor systems



  • Excellent troubleshooting skills backed by extensive hand on experience in complex electrical equipment.

  • Familiarity with electrical systems, tools, equipment, codes and safety procedures required.

  • Training and developing subordinates to assume positions of greater responsibility in the organization.

  • Language skills: English is essential. French is highly advantageous.
