Under general supervision, plan activities of the assigned department by scheduling and prioritizing activities in collaboration with Sierrita/Bagdad Supervisors/Managers. Use the management systems to achieve the assigned planning and scheduling objectives. Responsible for effective planning, scheduling, communication, preparations, forecasting, monitoring inventory levels, reporting, etc. 
  • Through interaction with supervision, determine raw materials, WIP requirements and finished goods packaging taking into consideration the operations capabilities to develop daily, monthly and long term production plans consistent with the corporate master plan and schedules. Perform basic troubleshooting of inventory discrepancies
  • Prepare and communicate plant production schedules on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in coordination with the Operations Manager and S&OP requirements to optimize customer satisfaction and production efficiencies
  • Confer with supervision to determine status of the production schedule; expedite production on a routine basis, minimize impact of scheduling delays and implement effective alternatives in coordination with other producing sites to obtain optimal supply chain efficiencies
  • Work with maintenance planning to coordinate “turn-arounds” or shutdowns in coordination with Master Production and Planning needs of the Company
  • Responsible for the integrity of the S&OP planning data, including inventory levels as reported on a routine basis; prepare various production and inventory reports
  • May prepare purchase or release orders to obtain necessary materials as determined by the Planned Independent Requirement from MRP
  • Understand and actively contribute towards site’s shipping/receiving activities
  • Initiate and/or confirm Stock Transfer Orders to transfer inventory to other processing sites in support of the MRP
  • Contribute to auditing and maintaining the integrity of information in the SAP management system, for assigned area
  • Execute MRP at the site and initiates appropriate actions to meet the requirement of the master plan
  • Prepare long-range projections in support of other business forecasting needs (e.g., staffing, capitol)
  • Create and maintain SOP’s at site to reflect tasks and work activities related to site planning
  • Supervise/oversee activities of Production Planners I and manage succession planning, and employee development
  • Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED and six (6) years of specific experience in field maintenance or mining/manufacturing operations, OR
  • High School diploma or GED and six (6) years of related experience in field maintenance or operations within a mining/manufacturing environment including four (4) years of specific Planning experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field and two (2) years of related experience in field maintenance or mining/manufacturing operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate safety leadership
  • Ability and willingness to do some traveling between sites (5%)
