Globe 24-7, in partnership with Newcrest Mining Limited is working together to source experienced and qualified talent for their Red Chris Joint Venture located 80 km south of Dease Lake, BC in Tahltan traditional territory.


Newcrest Mining Limited, a global mining company and Australia's largest gold producer owns and operates a portfolio of predominantly low cost, long life mines and a strong pipeline of Brownfields and Greenfields exploration projects. The company has recently expanded its footprint into British Columbia as the operator of a Joint Venture company, Newcrest Red Chris Mining Limited.


The Reliability Engineer will identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. The role is focused on lower costs, and improve productivity by addressing loss elimination, risk management and lift cycle asset management of the site's asset.


  • Develop and implement methods, tools, and processes that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the reliability program by reducing downtime, extending equipment lifecycle, and reducing cost.

  • Coordinate, organize, facilitate, project-manage, and document activities relating to the reliability program.

  • Track and record metrics for maintenance performance, asset reliability and costs; communicate metrics and performance to stakeholders in operations. Collect feedback from operation stakeholders for improvements to maintenance plans and performance measures.

  • Work in collaboration with operations and maintenance team members to prepare maintenance plans and contribute in the preparation of annual budgets and resource plans.

  • Develop, using RCM where appropriate, maintenance and spare parts strategies for new or existing system assets.

  • Analyse maintenance/failure data to optimize planned maintenance frequencies and implement improvements, identify opportunities for increasing equipment performance, capacity and reducing cost.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; or a combination of relevant work experiences.

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in mobile mining or heavy equipment maintenance & reliability engineering required.

  • Minimum valid Class 5 drivers' license.

  • Strong business, financial and negotiation skills.

  • Competency in business and safety risk management.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills - ability to provide clear focus and direction to meet objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, determine course of action and lead change.

  • Must be able to discuss concepts, manage change, and influence decision making.

  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.

  • General understanding of condition-based monitoring techniques, such as oil sample analysis, vibration analysis, ultrasonic inspections, NDT required.

  • Ability to work with ERP maintenance systems, collecting and analysing data required.

  • Experience working with mobile equipment or fixed plant assets required.

  • Ability to develop a Business Case based on Cash Flow NPV and ROI required.

  • Basic Project Management skills required.

  • Root Cause Analysis training, Failure analysis training required.

  • A working knowledge of SAP, VIMS, Tyre Sense and other diagnostic software considered a distinct asset.

  • Any formal RCM training is considered an asset.
