Job Description:

A great opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a dynamic global mining company and participate in its growth. Globe 24-7, in partnership with Newcrest Mining Limited is working together to source experienced and qualified talent for their Red Chris Joint Venture located 80 km south of Dease Lake, BC in Tahltan traditional territory.


THE COMPANY


Newcrest Mining Limited, a global mining company and Australia's largest gold producer owns and operates a portfolio of predominantly low cost, long life mines and a strong pipeline of Brownfields and Greenfields exploration projects. The company has recently expanded its footprint into British Columbia as the operator of a Joint Venture company, Newcrest Red Chris Mining Limited.


THE ROLE


Provide safe, efficient and cost-effective operational control of the Red Chris warehouse and associated logistics in accordance with company objectives. Lead the warehouse function and adopt a positive and proactive safety culture: effectively provide and account for materials and services required by the site. Manage logistics solutions to and from site. Provide visible leadership and operational direction to the work teams, ensuring resources, capacity and capability are developed and aligned to the work plans.



THE RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership to safety and a safe working environment



  • Delivering a warehouse safety transformation project including implementation of critical controls

  • Lead and deliver the planning and integration of Newcrest SAP including Master Data uplift

  • Leadership of the team, inclusive of People development and performance management. Provide the basis for the development of a safe and competent workforce by organizing, training, development and performance management of members of the work group

  • Genuine cooperation with other departments to achieve uniformity of policy application across the site and meet Company objectives

  • Managing the supply chain to ensure operational continuity, value maximization and risk reduction

  • Delivering materials and goods in accordance with company policy and procedures to all end users

  • Maintain and optimize inventory stock levels and identify obsolete and/or surplus stock

  • Ensure the distribution and storage infrastructure is safe and fit for purpose for the operation, including design, construction and implementation of a new warehouse in 2020

  • Contract Manage and optimize the inbound and outbound freight and any other related contractual performance responsibilities, including monthly and quarterly performance reviews

  • Completion of stocktaking as per audit requirements and in compliance with Supply Procedures

  • Developing monthly team KPI's to drive accountability and reward achievement.


THE REQUIREMENTS



  • Demonstrated commitment to safety

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce

  • Minimum 10 years of supply experience required; mining experience preferred

  • Change Management experience required

  • SAP experience

  • Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills

  • A team player, proactive and willing to pitch in, with excellent interpersonal skills
