A great opportunity for an experienced technical leader to join a dynamic global mining company and participate in its growth.Globe 24-7, in partnership with their client is working together to source experienced and qualified talent for their Copper/gold operations in Northern British Columbia.


Our clients are a global mining company and Australia's largest gold producer owning and operating a portfolio of predominantly low cost, long life mines and a strong pipeline of Brownfields and Greenfields exploration projects. The company has recently expanded its footprint into North America operating its first operations in British Columbia.


Lead the definition, tendering and design, of the site infrastructure to support the Operation's Block Cave Study outcomes, managing a small team, various stakeholders and contractors, to deliver the infrastructure portion of the study to meet the requirements of the Block Cave business plan on a consulting basis, or a one-year fixed term contract.


  • Lead the development of an integrated infrastructure design that includes existing, and short term planned infrastructure, as well as new and expanded infrastructure requirements for the block cave

  • The infrastructure design includes:

    • Tailings Impoundment Area (TIA)

    • Piping, pumping and water infrastructure

    • Roads accesses, drainage and parking areas

    • Electric Power supply and distribution (Primary and backup)

    • Utilities corridors, underground and overhead transmission

    • Site camp, office and maintenance facilities

    • Concentrate storage, transport and port facilities

  • Guide the Studies team in the most efficient layouts for infrastructure design and coordinate an overall site layout

  • Deliver the study on time, within budget, and as per technical specifications and company standards

  • Provide safety leadership to the project with a strong focus on process safety and culture.

  • Deliver effective, ongoing, site-based stakeholder engagement, to facilitate cooperation and alignment through strong relationship management between Operations personnel, Project Delivery, Technology, and Technical Services; and

  • Challenge assumptions and foster innovative thinking, to deliver the best outcomes


  • 10+ years of design experience with mining and associated infrastructures

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field

  • Professional Engineering designation

  • Strong experience with Canadian and International infrastructure design and operations/projects

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) upwards (to Manger/General Manager/Chief Operations Officer) and to Operational and Technical levels

  • Experience interacting and communicating with local communities, i.e. First Nations
