Globe 24-7 is currently searching for an experienced Senior Qualified Person (QP) of Resources and Reserves to provide expertise and support in the Operation.

The Company

Our client, is a Colombian business group dedicated to the exploration and exploitation of precious materials, especially gold, with operations in Nicaragua, Argentina, and Colombia that selected Globe 24-7 support in recruiting an experienced Senior Qualified Person (QP) of Resources and Reserves due to our experience and market knowledge.

The Position

The Senior Qualified Person (QP) of Resources and Reserves is responsible for support the Resource & Reserve (R&R) Reporting process. Ensure compliance to Grupo Mineros resource and reserve Reporting Guidelines, as well as overseeing the resource and reserve modelling aspects within the Company's projects and operations. Ensure that Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves best practices are in place, including the requirement to meet stated company and industry regulatory requirements. Keeps the link between the Operation Units R&R Coordinators (and Competent Persons) and the Corporate Mineral Resources function.

The occupant can live in his / her country of origin. Relocalization at Medellín (Colombia) could be considered in the mid or long term.


  • Coordinate, in conjunction with the Operating and Exploration Divisions, the compilation of the annual resource / reserve estimates ensuring that the appropriate level of rigor and quality control has been applied to the process.

  • Assume responsibility as the Qualified Person (QP) assuming overall responsibility for the Company's Mineral Resource / Mineral Reserve estimate and supporting documentation (no matter the source).

  • Lead the preparation of the NI 43-101 (National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects within Canada) compliant technical reports for the operations and projects, soliciting input from the broader organization as necessary, and contracting and managing external consultants to assist with the preparation of the technical reports when required.

  • Provide expert advice to operations and projects, as well as support to the Vice-president of Business Development and Strategy when investigating acquisition or merger opportunities as it relates to resource development and estimating practices.

  • Establish a set of geoscience policies, standards and guidelines for resource / reserve estimation for use across the Group incorporating best practices identified across the company as well as recognized best practices and up to date methodologies from the broader mining and mineral processing industry.

  • Provide regular updates to the senior executive team on technical initiatives and operating issues identified within the operating divisions and projects as they relate to the geoscience discipline.

  • Ensure that cross-functional and cross-operational technical issues relating to resource and reserve development are coordinated and managed appropriately and effectively. It includes oversee all discipline related technical development initiatives.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a geoscience or mining discipline. s degree in Administration, Psychology or Industrial Engineering or lawyer with postgraduate or master's degree in HR or Labor Law and / or social security

  • Minimum 12 years 'experience in mining industry.

  • The position demands to be registered as a Qualified Person (QP) in Canada.

  • Must be a technical expert with respect to gold reserve and resource evaluation, including a strong understanding of resource and reserve modelling techniques, geo-statistics and life-of-mine planning.

  • It requires good operational experience, advanced analysis skills and the ability to troubleshoot and facilitate problem solving.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with and influence different levels of the organization.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.

  • Good skills for influencing, teaching and developing people.

  • Fluent in English as well as Spanish (B2 or C1 according to Common European Framework of Reference for languages)
