Supervisor Business Analysis

Ambatovy Joint Venture operation in Madagascar, is recruiting for a Supervisor Business Analysis to ensure the consideration of financial implications when planning, designing, developing, and launching business and financial systems in support of core organisational functions and business processes.

The Role
The Supervisor Business Analysis will provide accurate financial information to cost center managers in order for them to take the appropriate business decisions and to identify cost saving opportunities and improvements, compile reports based on findings, probable causes and possible solutions. As the core interface between Finance and other departments, the position will oversee the identification and understanding of business requirements and translate them into cost drivers and key performance indicators (KPI's).

The Responsibilities

  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.

  • Develop financial budgeting, forecasting, planning within the company as required for quarterly forecast, annual budget and five-year plan. Ensure that stakeholders operate within their approved budgets

  • Oversee monthly reporting process, analysis and cost center meetings. Develop cost drivers and KPI's with the cost center managers to identify spillage and also cost saving opportunities.

  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging systems. Ensure the correct policies and processes are in place for the financial planning and cost follow-up.

  • Defining best practices which will enable the company to reduce wastage and improve efficiencies.

  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses to assess investment proposals by the business and aid management in making implementation decisions.

  • Coaching, reviewing and encouraging growth within his business analyst team.

  • Manage cost savings and costs improvement actions. Develop templates and dashboards using the ERP and other sources to enable proper analysis.

  • Assist the Superintendent, Financial Planning and Business Analysis in the follow-up of key projects and initiatives to ensure that expectations are met and follow up actions are implemented.

  • Interacting between the departments and business analyst group to ensure that the requirements of each department are clear.

  • Follow-up on all on-going cost projects in departments, and ensure projects are executed in line with expectations.

  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.

The Requirements

  • Bacc+4 in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline.

  • A professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA, CA, CMA) is an asset.

  • At least 6 to 8 years of professional experience including financial modelling.

  • Good knowledge of extracting information from a database and supporting financial systems.

  • Good knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards);

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English; French would be an added advantage.

  • Leadership, management skills and be able to develop a team.

  • Ability to multi-task under pressure and have excellent time management skills.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to provide attention to detail and be proactive.
