General Supervisor Planning - Refinery



Ambatovy Joint Venture operation in Madagascar, is recruiting an experienced General Supervisor Planning in the refinery to plan, organize, control and continuously improves works and a broad range of programs, initiatives and issues for a cost effective, reliable maintenance service to the area.

The Role


The General Supervisor Planning Refinery will focus on key issues which impact planned work and the production plan by providing recommendations to drive change with the Superintendent's support. He/She will improve equipment availability, and therefore production capacity, whilst decreasing maintenance costs.



Responsibilities



  • Investigate break in work activities to support the reliability team in defining route cause and provide recommendation on how the issue could be avoided or better recovered.

  • Ensure Coverage to the Superintendent whist they are offsite or otherwise engaged with key activities onsite.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to mechanical maintenance team (Provides technical expertise to his/her department)

  • Support safe and efficient execution of mechanical maintenance in his/her area, lead / participate in continuous improvements in his/her field of experience.

  • Develop and implement best practices for maintenance work procedures and methods.

  • Identify and design EAM improvement opportunities in conjunction with EAM Administrator that will ensure an optimised Work Management process. Design and implement EAM master data standards.

  • Effectively collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure timely planning, resourcing (services & material kitting) and scheduling of planned work.

  • Oversight (plan, monitor, control) of critical Maintenance activities to ensure quality and performance.

  • Participate in:

    • Maintenance weekly and shutdown work planning routines for his/her area

    • The elaboration and implementation of the preventative maintenance strategies



  • Support the Supervisors of Planning and Material Coordination in the coaching effort to ensure all work is consistently planned, prepared, scheduled, executed, evaluated and recorded.

  • Develop a safety focused high performance team aligning Asset Management plan and operation strategies with focus competency development and succession development of Malagasy Nationals, promote team spirit.

  • Ensure that department KPI's for work flow management are met through proper management of work backlog and correct prioritizing of work.

  • Ensure all working practices comply with the Ambatovy HSE policies and procedures.

  • Manage and coordinate optimization projects including subcontractors if required.

  • Review / Support of prestart process safety reviews.



The Requirements



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical is preferred.

  • Trade Qualified (Mechanical) from recognized Institution. Additional Certificates in Planning is preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years industrial processing plant maintenance experience with 5 years in a Supervisory capacity in the Refinery area.

  • Excellent knowledge in rotating equipment maintenance, exposure to RFCA, ICAM analysis methods.

  • Solid understanding of Welding/ Fabrication, Electrical Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling and maintenance workflow process.

  • Ability to:

    • Critically analyses emergency work and determine prioritization

    • Monitor, evaluate and manage schedule compliance

    • To interpret engineering drawings



  • Strong Technical and Product knowledge or HPAL equipment and worldwide suppliers.

  • EAM or similar CMMS system experience is required.

  • Computer literacy and experience with the entire Microsoft Office suite of programs including Ms Projects.
