Description

This role will provide thought leadership in the designs of processes and technical solutions from a business and user perspective. Very focused on the look, feel, and usability of all solutions. Will provide direction in all User Interface components. Secondarily, the role includes working on marketing campaigns providing Art Direction and creating illustrations by working within brand guidelines. This position will interface with business process and technical resources, and will be actively involved in agile development cycles. This is a global role, and will actively support solutions in North America, South America, Europe and Indonesia.

  • Provides UI design assets by utilizing our User Experience strategy and design system best practices and principals. Provides User Interface recommendations and coordinates recommendations with agile track leads. Facilitates and plans user research activities. Creates and manage components within the design system including influencing best practices.
  • Designs, develops, and reviews user centric and process solutions including information architectures, requirements, specifications, navigation design, flows, wireframes. Includes creating and updating design standards documentation to align with modern UX principles.
  • Works with communications and marketing teams to provide art direction (illustration) and design for MIS Marketing Campaigns.
  • Interfaces with other process and technology development teams for project and system support.
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School Diploma or GED AND ten (10) years of Visual Design, User Experience, User Interface related work experience; OR
  • Associate’s degree AND seven (7) years of Visual Design, User Experience, User Interface related work experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree AND five (5) years of Visual Design, User Experience, User Interface related work experience

Preferred

  • Take a human-centered approach developing new products and applications for Freeport
  • Conduct user research to discover insights, define user personas for digital tools, and map user journeys
  • Develop new concepts, storyboards, detailed interaction designs, screen flows, wireframes and prototypes to clearly articulate solutions
  • Participate & conceptualize at a high level about product strategy and vision — not just visual ideas but what should we build and why.
  • Create distinctive digital experiences
  • Actively collaborate as part of an agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately
  • Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions
  • Execute product design for a range of applications that are responsive across form factors (e.g., web, mobile, tablet, etc.) and scale across platforms (e.g., iOS, Android, etc.)
  • Scale designs efficiently across multiple product deployments
  • Track user experience metrics and reports on the success of UX improvements, including analytics
  • Properly perform quality assurance (QA) design work within coded environments to ensure optimal user experience meets the expectations of user stories
  • Ability to understand complex design systems and contribute to the iterative growth of components and layouts
  • Conceptualizes and implements high-quality marketing designs / illustrations for features and functionality managed and deployed by Freeport MIS
  • Executes design and layout solutions with a high level of proficiency and artistry, including icons, color schemes, interface features and transitions
  • Attends and/or leads meetings facilitated by business area or project initiator to understand the goals and objectives throughout the stages of a project. Presents assignments to business area managers/leaders and peers as needed.

Criteria/Conditions

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
