Description

This position is located at the Henderson Mine, which is in an underground mine plant setting at an elevation of 10,800 feet above sea level. This may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.  Highly skilled worker who under general supervision performs duties related to the safe operation of the underground hoist conveyance system. - Responsible for the safe transportation of all visitors, employees, and contractors via the underground shaft conveyance system - Perform routine maintenance functions: Daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual MSHA required PMs - Responsible for the safe transportation of all materials which includes: explosives, equipment, and parts via the underground shaft conveyance system - Responsible for ensuring that the hoist limitations (weight) are not exceeded - Accurately complete all MSHA related documentation on all hoist inspections and maintenance - Train and mentor other employees - Create, fill-out, and close work orders via electronic system - Monitors entire site operations via electronic monitoring system - Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years in trade 
  • Required to pass hoist operator examination certified by MSHA
  • Familiar with all underground specific emergency procedures: underground emergency evacuation, injury transportation procedures 
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be able to receive and maintain Explosive Possessor Certification through the BATF - Required to follow the safe and proper procedures of the Underground Personal Identification system

Pay Range:

$30.50 - $35.90/Hourly

Rate of pay dependent on competency, experience, qualifications and skills
