Position Title: Mechanical Engineer - Buildings & Data Centers (CFD)
Location: Hybrid, Open to Any Office Location

Job Summary:

Join a dynamic engineering team to lead and contribute to the design and implementation of HVAC and plumbing systems in a variety of large-scale facilities, focusing on the specialized requirements of hyperscale and colocation data centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Design & Construction
    • Spearhead the design and construction of HVAC and plumbing systems for data centers, including support areas like administrative spaces, warehouses, workshops, labs, and electrical distribution.
    • Deliver projects through multiple methods, including traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build approaches.
  • Data Center Specializations
    • Conduct airflow CFD modeling for both interior and exterior spaces to optimize energy efficiency.
    • Perform energy audits, efficiency studies, code compliance reviews, and LEED/sustainable design applications.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative and sustainable HVAC solutions.
  • Engineering Development
    • Enhance engineering skills through engagement with challenging, high-profile projects and complex design requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in HVAC design, specifically for data centers.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in CFD modeling for airflow and thermal analysis.
    • Familiar with NFPA standards, ICC codes, ASHRAE, and SMACNA standards.
    • Competent in computer-generated HVAC loads and equipment sizing, HVAC system energy modeling, and sustainable design principles.
    • Knowledge of large-scale chiller plant design (water and air-cooled systems preferred).
    • Experience with Cadence Reality Data Center Design (6Sigma Room).
  • Certifications:
    • Professional Engineer (PE) License
    • LEED AP Certified, with experience in industrial building certifications.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
