Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a power generation company located in Glastonbury, CT. This position is a hybrid role with 3 days a week on-site and 2 days remote. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role with a focus in the design of fluid systems. The Mechanical Engineer will work with team members to create reliable and secure system solutions for generating stations and its ancillary equipment.
Salary: $40 - $50 per hour
Responsibilities also include:
- Performing general mechanical engineering and consulting services
- Support of projects ranging in size and complexity from small utility generating station upgrades to large turnkey power plant construction
- Designing fluid systems including: pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation and pipe/tube components
Must Haves:
- Experience designing fluid systems including: pumps, motors, valves, instrumentation and pipe/tube components
- Cad software proficiency (AutoCad and NX preferred. SolidWorks or similar can be substituted) - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
Plusses:
- Experience with Gas Turbines, power stations, or batch processing/manufacturing facilities preferred
- Experience with SAP Enterprise management software
- Design experience on piping systems for water, diesel fuel, lubricating oil and natural gas with all manner of, shutoff, control and pressure regulating valves, as wells as pumps and instrumentation - such as transmitters, RTDs, thermocouples, sensors, vibration probes, etc.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
