As a center of excellence for Extreme Electrochemistry, Sadoway Labs is home to both full-time dedicated researchers and also the Sadoway Fellowship Program which trains the world's future leading scientists.
Sadoway Labs is looking for a Staff Engineer to join its team of pioneers. This person will be helping to develop the research facility and equipment as well as supporting researchers in the design of custom experimental apparatus.
Required Background: B.S. (or higher) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electromechanical engineering, chemical engineering or physics, 5+ years of relevant industrial experience
Desired skills and experience:
- Machine Design (CAD)
- Instrumentation & Control systems
- Electrical power supplies
- Fluid handling systems
- General laboratory practices
- Project Management
Bonus skills and experience:
- Laboratory management
- Labview and/or general data acquisition
- Multi-physics modeling
- high temperature furnaces
- Previous experience in start-up environment
You will be a member of a small team comprised of both experienced and new researchers and support staff. Interpersonal relationships and team collaboration is critical at Sadoway Labs. As we are working regularly in a laboratory environment we routinely wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and you should be prepared to do so as well.
