This expatriate role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in dynamic environments, has strong technical leadership skills, and is comfortable working on a rigorous rotation schedule.

The successful candidate will play a key role in pushing and guiding the detailed engineering contractor to ensure progress on delayed deliverables.

You will be stationed at the facility near Lagos, on a monthly rotating schedule between there and Houston with full logistical support, including visa processing, travel, accommodations, and local transport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead process troubleshooting efforts and provide engineering support to offshore teams.
  • Review and push, the detailed engineering contractor, to maintain design and execution schedules.
  • Update and validate process engineering documents including PFDs, P&IDs, and simulation models.
  • Participate in HAZOP, risk assessments, and process safety evaluations.
  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams for commissioning and brownfield modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian regulations and international process safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Petroleum, or Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in offshore or upstream oil & gas production roles.
  • Fluent/native English speaker (mandatory, per client request).
  • Proficiency with Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, or equivalent simulation tools.
  • Solid knowledge of offshore systems (FPSO, gas compression, separation trains).
  • Valid BOSIET certification (or willing to obtain).
  • Strong communication and contractor management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing or coordinating with third-party engineering contractors.
  • Prior rotational work or expatriate experience in West Africa or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian offshore oil & gas regulatory landscape.

The client will interview this week, if you are interested and would like more details including the hourly rate, please apply now for immediate consideration.
