At CJR Renewables, we develop and deliver utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects worldwide. We're seeking a detail-driven Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the design, compliance, and delivery of electrical systems that power a sustainable future.

As an Electrical Engineer at CJR Renewables, you'll manage and execute all electrical engineering activities from conceptual design through final delivery. You'll lead the development and review of engineering packages, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as the Engineer of Record when required, with the authority to stamp and seal design documents.


Responsibilities

Conceptual Design

  • Interpret and assess site conditions, project specifications, and client needs.
  • Develop electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, and perform load flow and fault current calculations.
  • Participate in equipment selection including transformers, switchgear, inverters, and protection devices.
  • Oversee preparation of Bills of Materials (BOM) for early project stages.

Detailed Design

  • Lead and supervise electrical deliverables from external Engineers of Record (EoRs).
  • Review, comment, and approve 30/60/90/IFC design packages, including drawings, studies, specs, and permit applications.
  • Handle submittals, RFIs, and maintain technical clarity with stakeholders.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings to align project timelines and scope.

Vendor & Procurement Support

  • Evaluate technical proposals from equipment manufacturers and electrical vendors.
  • Recommend cost-effective, innovative technical solutions.
  • Assist procurement teams in vendor selection and contract development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering Managers, Estimating, Procurement, and Construction teams to align goals and schedules.
  • Participate in internal and external technical meetings to discuss design assumptions, risk, and scope.
  • Ensure smooth handover to construction teams with full technical continuity.

Compliance & Best Practices

  • Ensure adherence to NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and all applicable regional codes and standards.
  • Align deliverables with company Integrated Management System (IMS) and QHSE standards.
  • Support construction teams on-site with technical troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement of internal engineering processes, tools, and templates.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering for infrastructure or renewable energy
  • Will be expected to serve as Engineer of Record (EoR) when needed


Skills & Tools

Required:

  • AutoCAD, MS Office Suite
  • Strong critical thinking, technical writing, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams

Preferred (but not required):

  • Procore, PVcase, PVsyst
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Familiarity with electrical analysis tools such as ETAP, CYMCAP, PSSE, PSCAD


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform on-site evaluations and manage site development activities.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
  • Occasional travel to project sites.
