Job Description:

Technical Support Mechanical Engineer - Mechanical Systems (Remote, U.S.-Based)

Compressed Air Technology 35-40% Travel Entry to Mid-Level

Full-Time Remote Growing Global Start-up

Do you thrive in hands-on environments, enjoy solving mechanical and process challenges, and want to work with cutting-edge equipment in a growing international company?

We're seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join a rapidly expanding team supporting a game-changing, oil-free air compressor solution designed for industrial environments. This is a fully remote role (U.S.-based) with up to 40% travel for commissioning, training, and client support-ideal for a mechanically inclined engineer ready to grow with a high-tech startup environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide remote and onsite technical support for industrial customers during equipment commissioning and post-installation troubleshooting
  • Interpret and work with P&IDs, flow diagrams, and piping layouts-especially in air, fluid, or HVAC systems
  • Monitor system performance via remote diagnostics, identify issues, and respond to alerts
  • Partner with customers, internal engineers, and sales teams to ensure smooth installs and optimal performance
  • Deliver technical training sessions to distributors and partners (onsite or virtual)
  • Maintain accurate support documentation and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing resources
  • Help bridge the gap between design, installation, and product support

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 1-4 years of experience in mechanical, field service, or technical support roles-especially in flow control systems (pumps, valves, compressors, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of P&IDs, flow analysis, pumps, valves, piping systems, or heat exchangers
  • Exposure to 3D modeling or drafting tools (Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Familiarity with pneumatic or hydraulic components is a plus
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable with customer interaction, both virtually and in-person
  • Exposure to control logic, industrial automation systems, or instrumentation is a bonus (not required)

Why Join?

  • Work for a global innovator in clean, oil-free compressed air systems
  • Be part of a collaborative technical team across multiple time zones
  • Join a high-potential startup with European roots and global reach
  • Travel opportunities include initial onboarding in Europe
  • Long-term career growth path-opportunities to move into Product Management or Technical Sales

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Fully remote work (U.S. based only)
  • 401K + Health/Vision/Dental/Life Insurance
  • 3 weeks PTO, plus 10 paid holidays (4 weeks after 3 years)
  • Travel expenses covered (35-40% expected travel)
  • Culture of flexibility, autonomy, and cross-functional learning

About the Company

This innovative European start-up is redefining the compressed air industry with a patented, oil-free compressor system used in manufacturing, food processing, and other industrial applications. With a rapidly growing U.S. presence, we're expanding our support team to help scale service, training, and technical excellence for a global customer base.
