Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Amherst, OH

RL Enterprise Recruiting & Staffing is hiring on behalf of a confidential manufacturing client for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Industrial Coating Systems division. This is a direct hire opportunity for a technically skilled and detail-oriented engineer who excels in electrical circuit design, power electronics, and collaborative development work.

The ideal candidate will support the Product Development Team by designing and testing electrical circuits and power systems, managing prototypes, and ensuring performance and production readiness.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical circuits or sub-systems for new and existing industrial products
  • Create and evaluate design concepts, schematic layouts, PCB designs, and cost estimates
  • Select components, order prototypes, and support fabrication and testing
  • Perform technical calculations and analysis related to power usage, PWM control, PID tuning, and power supply stability
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical circuits and systems in a lab environment down to the component level
  • Compile and present performance data to the engineering team
  • Support manufacturing during the first production builds and prepare all release documentation
  • Lead or support small-scale engineering projects with defined deliverables and timelines


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical power supply circuit design
  • Strong understanding of circuit board and component-level electrical design
  • Proficient with circuit simulation tools (SPICE), schematic capture, and PCB layout software
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage engineering deliverables


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with power electronics systems exceeding 5KW
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer or comparable PCB layout software
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to apply sound engineering practices to real-world product challenges
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)


Work Environment

  • Office and lab environment with hands-on development and testing
