About the Company


Iotron Medical SK Corp is a Canadian company with operations in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We are a leading manufacturer of critical medical radioisotopes for nuclear medicine applications. Our lead product is copper-67, a beta-emitting therapeutic isotope being utilized across North America and Europe. Copper-67 serves as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) in therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in both clinical and preclinical research. At present, at least two companies are conducting human studies using this isotope. Iotron is also developing the capability to produce other radionuclides for clinical applications.


About the Role

Iotron is seeking a skilled a motivated Electrical Engineer with experience in linear accelerator (LINAC) systems to join our team. This role will be responsible for the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of LINAC electrical systems and subsystems, with a focus on high-voltage RF systems, beam control, interlocks, and power distribution.

Duties of the position include:

Design, develop, and optimize electrical systems and components for LINAC operation, including RF power supplies, modulators, pulse generators, and control electronics.

Collaborate with mechanical, radiation safety, and software teams to ensure system integration and performance.

Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system malfunctions, including high-voltage and timing systems.

Create and maintain detailed documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and test reports.

Support installation, calibration, and validation of LINAC systems in production.

Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.

Assist in developing interlock logic and safety systems for personnel and equipment protection.

Procure and manage a healthy supply of spare parts.

Maintain a clean, orderly, clutter-free and safe work environment, including a well-organized production and workflow area.

Operate and maintain linear accelerator according to Canadian Light Source (CLS) and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

o Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related discipline.

o 3+ years of hands-on experience with LINACs or high-energy particle accelerators.

o Strong knowledge of RF systems, vacuum electronics, and pulsed power electronics.

o Experience with circuit design tools and simulation software

o Familiarity with PLCs, motion control, and instrumentation systems.

o Working knowledge of radiation shielding, EMI mitigation, and grounding practices

Preferred:

o Experience in medical or industrial accelerator environments (e.g., radiotherapy, isotope production)

o Knowledge of accelerator physics, beam optics, and vacuum systems

o Experience with LabVIEW, Python, or embedded systems for control and monitoring

o Certification or training in high-voltage safety
