1.0 JOB SUMMARY:

1.1 The Mechanical Engineer designs mechanical products and systems by developing and testing product specifications and methods necessary to meet customer requirements.

2.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Designs mechanical systems and products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, and materials.

Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.

Develops mechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from production operators.

Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.

Complies with FDA Quality Management System regulations.

Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requests special services.

Maintains system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data.

Completes projects by training and guiding operators.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.

Contributes to team effort.

4.0 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or a combination of education and experience.

Project management and leadership skills along with strategic thinking ability.

Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency.

Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, address multiple issues, and handle multiple deadlines, in a hands-on environment.

Interdependent partnering skills, team and demonstrated ability to influence outcomes.

Solid decision making skills.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with strategizing strengths.

Working with global customer and vendor organizations.

Strong skills working with MS Office in a Windows environment.

Strong skills working with SolidWorks, or similar Computer Aided Design and Drafting platform.

Strong skills working with various CNC machine programs.

Strong skills working with various graphics programs such as Adobe and Corel.
