RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce and refine detailed structural engineering drawings, models, and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit Structure, and other BIM/CAD platforms.
  • Apply structural design information to create accurate steel, concrete, timber, and masonry plans.
  • Coordinate drafting efforts with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Conduct QA/QC checks on your own drawings to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with codes and project standards.
  • Maintain and use CAD/BIM standards, templates, and libraries.
  • Support project management with documentation and deliverable tracking.
  • Assist in preparing construction submittals, client deliverables, and project presentations.
  • Collaborate on preliminary designs, layouts, and field coordination as needed.

KNOWLEDGE OF PROJECT OBJECTIVES

  • Understand assigned project deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
  • Communicate regularly with engineers and project managers regarding design progress.
  • Recognize project-specific requirements, including permitting, accelerated schedules, and constructability considerations.

CLIENT CONTACT

  • Provide support to engineers and project managers for client-facing deliverables.
  • Represent Sebago Technics professionally at project meetings and site visits as requested.

TRAINING AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

  • Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure, and other relevant software.
  • Stay current with drafting, modeling, and BIM industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in professional development, workshops, and training programs.

RECORD KEEPING

  • Track time, tasks, and project-related documentation accurately.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy records for QA/QC and project documentation.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND LIABILITIES

  • Ensure drawings and models comply with structural engineering standards and codes.
  • Complete work in accordance with company policies, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Represent Sebago Technics with professionalism and integrity.
  • Embraces additional responsibilities as needed and may be asked to take on tasks beyond core duties, approaching all work with flexibility, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 24 years of CAD/BIM experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure, and other structural CAD/BIM platforms.
  • Knowledge of structural systems including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
  • Experience with QA/QC processes and project coordination.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers and project managers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of CAD equipment or documents.
  • Frequent use of computers for drafting, modeling, and documentation.
