Our directors have over 40 years of collective, hands-on experience within the mining, geological, geotechnical and civil engineering realms, making GeoTech Resourcing a very versatile, multi-disciplinary team.
With their experiences, as well as their desire to provide exceptional service and dedication in the mining and geotechnical fields, GeoTech Resourcing was formed.
Ian Baker
Ian Baker has a BSc in Business Management. He started his professional career in civil engineering and went on to set up an earthmoving and construction company which he ran and managed for 10 years employing over 100 people. As the M.D of the business, he frequently used recruitment agencies to find engineers, quantity surveyors and various skilled artisans. Having dealt with recruitment agents for many years he felt there was a need to offer businesses a more specialised service.
James Falla
James Falla has an MA in Geology from Oxford University, an MSc in Engineering Geology and a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand. James started his career as an exploration geologist with Anglo American in Namaqualand. He was also a senior engineering geologist responsible for all geological and geotechnical work on numerous EPCM projects in R.S.A, Namibia, Transkei and Swaziland. Having also experienced diverse service levels from personnel agents, James too realised the need for a more specialised team.
