Somika S.A.R.L (Societe Minere Du Katanga), established in 2001, has progressively distinguished itself as a QualityMining and Mineral Processing Company, producing high-grade Copper and Cobalt products. Based in Democratic Republic of the Congo (D.R. Congo), Somika is equipped with modern laboratory facilities for procurement of minerals, grading, crushing, drying and packaging to global standards of cobalt and copper concentrates.

Somika strives for a continuous improvement in all spheres - including philosophies, policies, procedures and products for economically optimum utilization of both Natural and Human resources. The Company is also dedicated to intensify its local community programmes to ensure continuous development in Health, Education and other Civic Amenities for the people of D. R. Congo.  
 

Presently, Somika is one among the leading exporters of Cobalt and Copper products in D. R. Congo.  Somika provides direct employment to more than 1500 local Congolese people and is also source to business opportunities to service sectors – Banking, Insurance, Transport, Sampling and Inspection agencies in and around Lubumbashi.

SOMIKA has contributed to social cause by way of support to local schools, supplies to hospitals and old age homes, medical supplies to Military Hospitals, sponsoring sports events, water wells and electrification for local residents in Lubumbashi, Likasi and Kolwezi.
