Electrical Engineer/Designer - EPLAN

We have been retained to identify an Electrical Engineer/Designer for our client who is a global leader in variable speed drives, motion controls and robotics. This is a growth position and will be part of a talented team of electrical engineering professionals. The primary responsibilities of this position will be designing, documenting, and providing support to manufacturing for all standard configured catalog products, options, and customer specific orders. Will also be responsible for assuring that the design intent and customer specifications are transferred into a quality, manufactured product that meets corporate objectives and the customer's demand rate. This position offers an opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, and across multiple teams and be surrounded by exceptionally talented individuals widely regarded as leaders in their areas of expertise.

Other Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Create and release all standard configured and engineered order documentation to manufacturing using the latest industry standards.
  • Investigate and approve changes to engineering documentation when manufacturing issues arise to insure on-time delivery of customer products.
  • Participate in new product development from the design concept to final product specification.
  • Evaluate component deviation request for fit form, and functional characteristics.
  • Assist purchasing with vendor evaluations and qualifications.
  • Control and process customer change requests relevant to order engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate and consult with associates from other departments to clarify customer order requirements before release to manufacturing.
  • Schedule orders using the order engineering tracking spreadsheet and monitors release dates out of engineering. Proactively informs management of possible delays in order release.
REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of design related experience in an electrical/electronic engineering discipline.
  • Experience creating engineering schematics and assembly drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN software is required.
  • Industrial control panel design knowledge and experience (preferably custom in nature) preferred, but not required.
  • Strong problem solving and process improvement skills, good analytical and troubleshooting skills are necessary competencies for this position.
  • Understanding of basic electrical theory along with the ability to design and interface drive I/O logic to meet customer specific requirements.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical industry codes and how they relate to drive and motion technology.
  • Ability to plan, organize, set priorities, and resolve issues expeditiously to meet the customer demand rate.
  • Excellent computer skills with a fundamental understanding of Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Experience with servo controllers, servo motors, PLCs & HMIs is a plus.
  • Ideal candidate will have exceptional project management skills.
  • UL508A experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with associates at all levels of the organization.
