Position Title: Senior Process Engineer
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: Houston, Texas

Our client, a fast-growing technology licensor making advancements in the Oil & Gas sector, has a permanent opportunity for a Vice President of Engineering to be based in Houston, TX.

Position Summary:
The position will be responsible for conducting process, technology and licensing oversight, project management activities within the project portfolio for the Energy Innovations Initiative of Americas (EIIA) teams. They are responsible for ensuring that the project's process design meets all applicable regulatory and technical requirements, developing process design documentation and providing technical support to the project team. The role will also provide support in coordinating project related activities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and conduct process technology evaluations and benchmarking to select preferred technology options for project implementation
  • Lead and direct the process engineering activities for the projects particularly in the energy transition and clean fuels industries
  • Provide technical support to the project teams and engineering contractors, including reviewing and approving design deliverables and resolving technical issues
  • Develop scope of work and design basis documentation, including process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, and equipment specifications
  • Ensure the project's process design meets all applicable regulatory and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with other functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and procurement, to ensure the project's success
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets for the process engineering activities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in process engineering and/or project engineering preferably in the chemical, refinery or process-related manufacturing industry
  • +3 years working with petrochemical technology licensors
  • Knowledge of technology selection, process design principles and practices
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and multi-cultural environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in use and interpretation of process simulation software and tools
  • Experience in leading process design and engineering teams
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Recognized as the authority in the area of petrochemical process unit design and engineering
  • Coordinate & plans and engineering deliverables, including budgets and schedules to execute project according to project requirements.
Education, Experience, Qualifications:
  • Your strong interpersonal skills and communication to clearly convey technical concepts and principles in both verbal and written communication to licensors, engineering contractors and project teams will allow for successful execution of projects.
  • Successfully engaging across the organization, you will collaborate with colleagues in the technical and commercial work-streams to play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of projects within the EIIA.
  • You will use your engineering educational background and your extensive technical professional experience and insights to identify undefined constraints in processes and systems and create solutions.
  • You will determine the project resource requirements including, project managers, discipline engineering leads, Cost Control, Scheduling, Operations, Technology, Site Management, Procurement, Construction, EHS, and Sustainability to ensure efficient progression through the Feasibility, Pre-FEED/FEED and Detail Design stages.
