Job Description:

Petroplan is actively recruiting for a Principal Electrical Engineer on behalf of a US Based LNG Client. This position, reporting to the Operations Engineering Director, entails facilitating the seamless transition of the facility from Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) to operational phase by advancing Ready for Operations (RFO) initiatives.

Education & Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Preferably holds a Professional Engineering License.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in Electrical Engineering, particularly focusing on motors, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations is essential.
  • Thorough understanding of general plant equipment within the Oil & Gas sector is crucial.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the in-house Technical Expert on Electrical system engineering matters.
  • Offer day-to-day Electrical systems support to the Maintenance & Operations teams to ensure uninterrupted operation of plant equipment.
  • Provide advanced diagnostic assistance to enable swift production recovery in case of equipment failures and unplanned plant outages.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) exercises and deliver technical summaries with causes and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Interpret and evaluate analysis and recommendations from Reliability Technicians on predictive programs.
  • Assist the Maintenance team in planning and executing Turnaround activities.
  • Track availability and enhance overall reliability of plant equipment.
  • Evaluate workflow processes and identify critical spares and storage requirements for Electrical systems.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in senior engineering roles, focusing on Electrical equipment in industrial settings, either in engineering or operations.
  • Oil and Gas industry experience is mandatory, with a preference for LNG applications. Experience in petrochemicals, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or similar hydrocarbon processing may be considered.
  • Extensive knowledge of motors, gas turbines (Frames & Aero-derivatives), and compressors is required.
  • Proficiency in CMMS Systems.
  • Experience in power system analysis.
  • Familiarity with RCFA tools for conducting failure analysis.
