Job Summary:

The Effector Power and Analog Design (EPAD) Department supports key Raytheon products, by providing mission-critical designs relating to power conversion, motor controls, flight termination systems, telemetry, and other analog domains.

The EPAD team, is currently searching for an Electrical Engineer with education and experience in performing circuit card testing and troubleshooting to the component level utilizing schematics and test equipment.

This position is an on-site role located in Tucson, Arizona.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Working with a team of engineers to perform electrical tests and troubleshooting on subassemblies, assemblies, and systems for conformance to specifications
  • Understanding and applying the theory of operation for the unit under test to enable determination of faulty product for design, workmanship, environmental and/or component defects.
  • Work on systems validation, test and analysis while working through all phases of integration, and test validation activities within the Labs.
  • Ensure customer success through the development and execution of innovative and comprehensive test, verification, and validation strategies, processes, tools and techniques.

Responsibilities may contain aspects of one or more of the following disciplines:

  • Power - generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity as well as the design of related devices. These include transformers, electric generators, electric motors, high voltage engineering, and power electronics.
  • Automated test development and troubleshooting using NI TestStand/Labview, Python, or ATEasy
  • Communications - transmission of information utilizing RS-232, SPI, I2C, or other communication busses.
  • Controls - motor power delivery and control actuator systems

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years experience.
  • Experience with reading circuit schematics, sketches, and/or test procedures.
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, or spectrum analyzers
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance."

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience performing engineering tests such as ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure), DVT (Design Verification Test) and DMV (Design Margin Verification).
  • Familiarity with programmable electronic parts including microcontrollers and FPGA's.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills as well as written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution style

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
