Job Purpose

This position will lead the development of hardware and software technologies into our vehicles to enhance comfort, safety, and user experience towards creating a top-class infotainment platform with a focus on C.A.S.E. (Connected Autonomous Shared Electrification) and Quality.



Key Accountabilities

  • Electrical Hardware and Software Testing
  • Perform actual hands-on performance testing that may include developing unique requirements on system components and vehicle testing to guarantee product acceptance.
  • Support maturation testing to cover different configurations of components to ensure all variations work correctly.
  • Direct the Honda selected suppliers to design and manage the component to maturation schedule requirements.
  • Write clear and concise reports, presentations and/or technical documents to make a record of the development activities, communicating directly with Technical Experts.
  • Requirements Capture and Specification Development
  • Recognize and specify critical functional (hardware, software & communication) requirements for infotainment system components to match customer demands.
  • Develop, write and issue specification requirements for system components.
  • Analyze & interpret test results, predict performance/failure and provide required product/design data.
  • Effectively communicate the development schedule and report status of component functions to different company areas/departments.
  • Research and influence the future path and trends of infotainment system architecture, features/functions, and efficient development methods.
  • Assess the marketplace demands with a competitive viewpoint of infotainment system component requirements.
  • Propose, develop, and justify any new functions (hardware, electrical, software, HMI, etc.) to meet the market requirements



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • 4-yr degree of BSc in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • 3-6 years of related experience is desired



Key Performance Indicators

  • Constant communication with supplier to report Honda requirements, remain aware of development status, and arrange scheduling of reporting content (ex: System Verification, Software GO, etc.).
  • Report development content.
  • Meet development milestones on schedule with quality mindset and support newer associates in their project management with suppliers.
  • Investigate/identify problem root cause with supplier support (if needed).
  • Able to track multiple activities happening simultaneously to close out items on schedule.
  • Able to communicate status of development clearly and succinctly to technical leads and management.
  • Maintain a diverse cultural understanding with the ability to alter communication methods to effectively transmit technical concepts to necessary audience. There will be interaction with international staff.



Communications and Working Relationships

  • Arrange necessary communication with other Honda entities & Suppliers to correlate customer viewpoint and reflect to the Infotainment parts development especially as it relates to C.A.S.E. areas.
  • Provide direction to supplier and develop specifications that can achieve the performance and expectations from Connected and Autonomous areas within the scope of the overall Infotainment system.
  • Ensure test results and schedules satisfy requirements related to components within the Connected Infotainment platform
