Job Description:

Support relevant parties in overseeing, monitoring, reviewing, developing, and training the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (EP&R) and Fire System Maintenance Engineering (FSME), which includes manpower requirements, development, training, fire system maintenance for short and long-term needs, rescue equipment management, and budget allocation under company policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

1.            Member of the Emergency Preparedness and Response management team in ensuring and merging the Underground Rescue and Emergency Response Teams into a world-class Fire and Rescue team.

2.            Involved in planning and scheduling the replacement and inspection of Emergency Preparedness and Response equipment, developing, and evaluating maintenance procedures for the equipment, which includes monitoring their condition and location, as well as monitoring the training and performance of technicians to ensure all equipment is in good condition and available 24/7. Follow-up on serviceable equipment includes purchasing replacement parts and maintaining in-house stock so that maintained equipment is available and ready to use based on the Standards and Statutes of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, MSHA, NOSA, and PTFI.

3.            Together with the department head and Emergency Preparedness and Response section in monitoring that the fire & rescue competency program is adhered to, and ensuring accreditations for all competent personnel in Emergency Preparedness and Response are obtained.

4.            Participate in organizing, leading, and developing emergency management programs in Emergency Preparedness and Response by scheduling training and reports in the areas of rescue, first aid, firefighting, and fire drills for full-time and volunteer members of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team in compliance with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), MSHA, NOSA, and PTFI standards, statutes, and/or guidelines.

5.            Together with the department head and Emergency Preparedness and Response section, participate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) staff meetings and site-wide senior staff safety meetings to ensure understanding and consistent compliance with safety programs. Provide professional recommendations regarding safety issues in Emergency Preparedness and Response.

6.            Actively participate as an advisor and assessor in PTFI's Annual Rescue Challenge, as well as national or international rescue training/competition events, to provide evaluations of performance both collectively and individually.

7.            Provide support and assistance to the head of the Emergency Preparedness and Response department in internal and external audit activities to ensure compliance with standards, laws, and guidelines of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, MSHA, NOSA, and PTFI.

8.            Develop, organize, and implement Emergency Preparedness and Response training modules and programs at the PTFI Fire and Rescue Training Center to ensure compliance with standards, laws, and guidelines of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, MSHA, NOSA, and PTFI.

9.            Engage in the inspection, review, and evaluation of Fire System Maintenance Engineering equipment and collaborate with the team to follow up on non-serviceable equipment, including purchasing replacement parts and maintaining in-house stock, to ensure that maintained equipment is available and ready for use under standards from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, MSHA, NFPA, NOSA, and PTFI.

10.          Together with the head of the Fire System Maintenance Engineering section, ensure that accreditation is obtained for all competent personnel.

11.          Develop, organize, and implement management programs in the field of Fire System Maintenance Engineering by collaborating with middle and senior management teams at their respective job sites to ensure they are aware of the expectations and responsibilities placed upon them under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), MSHA, NFPA, NOSA, and PTFI standards and guidelines.

12.          Provide support and assistance to the head of the Fire System Maintenance Engineering department and engineering team in understanding applicable codes, standards, and other requirements to offer advice to clients regarding fire safety issues, ensuring compliance with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), SNI, MSHA, NFPA standards, NOSA guidelines, and PTFI standards.

13.          Provide support and advice to the head of the Fire System Maintenance Engineering department and section regarding the latest technology in fire alarm and suppression systems, maintenance methods, and tools that can be implemented in the PTFI area.

Qualifications

•             Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Engineering discipline or equivalent degree in Health and Safety or similar with a minimum of twelve (12) years of proven underground mine and or mine rescue experience, also in fire system and maintenance engineering.

•             Hold an Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate certificate or equivalent.

•             Experience in emergency management during an active mine emergency.

•             High level of experience in supervision/training/mentoring in a diverse and multicultural environment.

•             Computer literacy for troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes.

•             High level of communication and presentation skills.

•             Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.

•             Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills including problem analysis, cost, and financial analysis.

•             Other PTFI's mandatory competencies.

Preferred Qualifications

•             Certified NFPA (National Fire Protection Association).

•             Highly proactive and achievement oriented.

•             Highly focused on satisfying customer requirements.

•             Understanding of preventive maintenance systems.

•             Experience in maintaining fire suppression systems.
