AECOM has an opening for an Electrical Engineer II to support our growing Buildings + Places teams in San Francisco or Oakland, CA offices.

The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team with a range of expertise supporting the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.

As part of our team, you will support a diverse tapestry of work across markets like Commercial, Federal (Military/DoD), Healthcare, Higher Education, Sports + Rec and Science + Tech markets, including landmark projects in the industry. Job Summary/Responsibilities

Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy

Coordinating with multiple disciplines and acting as the electrical designer to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to the project's electrical systems, functionality, and safety measures

Support in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase

Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings

Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's mission

Ensures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope and schedule

Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplines

Support on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects

Develops designs within a BIM design environment

Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards

Develops alternate technical solutions and design options in support of project team, e.g. white paper research, code review and wide range of difficult problems

Responsible for communication and collaboration with full design team and client

Ensures compliance to Quality Assurance Procedures
