Position Summary:

The manufacturing engineer will be responsible for improving the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the company by implementing process improvements and revisions on a project-by-project basis. The manufacturing engineer will evaluate manufacturing processes with the goal of continuous improvement.


Knowledge

  • Knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
  • Knowledge of calculating production, labor and material costs.
  • Knowledge of production schedules and estimating future requirements.
  • Create process to review technology and mechanical changes for a repeatable, stable and reliable process.


Skills / Abilities

  • Exemplary internal and external communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements.
  • Research, design, modify and test manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Able to design testing methods to assure product and process quality.
  • Prepare product and process reports.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends.
  • Place purchase order requisitions.
Requirements:

Education / Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar degree desired. Will consider actual work experience if able to demonstrate mechanical knowledge concepts, theory and application.
  • Proficient in 3D Computer Aided Design software (Inventor preferred).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of technical experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams and apply information.
  • Skills in trouble shooting, repairs and preventative maintenance of heavy industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Industrial background working with electrical, pneumatics and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, industrial sensors, servo motors a plus.


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to stand; walk; sit; use his/her hands, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing capacity required to maximize ability to understand all verbal communication and react accordingly.
