Location: Michigan

Comp: $160,000 - $180,000

Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the Electrical Engineering Manager will be to lead and develop the electronics engineering team, which includes Electrical Engineering, Embedded Software Engineering, Electronics Computer-Aided Design, Mechatronics, Functional Safety, and EE Lab Services. The Electrical Engineering Manager will oversee the planning, organization, leadership, and execution of global electronics engineering projects across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and lead projects, creating detailed plans to achieve objectives and overseeing the integration of technical activities.

Analyze electronics and software technology, resources, and market demand to assess project feasibility.

Address engineering-related issues by analyzing and resolving problems with assistance from subject matter experts both within and external to the department.

Direct, review, and approve product design releases and change requests, coordinating all customer and internal engineering changes.

Monitor project progress against schedules and budgets, recommending resource allocation as necessary to meet objectives.

Develop, implement, and enhance policies, standards, templates, and procedures for the electronics engineering department.

Establish evaluation criteria to measure departmental progress and effectiveness.

Review department objectives to ensure alignment with organizational and corporate goals.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives for processes, quality, and cost to enhance profitability and competitiveness.

Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of employees.

Oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

Promote and enforce a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with applicable legislation and company policies.

Qualifications:

- Candidates should possess 7-10 years of experience in electronics design with embedded software expertise.

- Preferably 3-5 years of prior program management or supervisory experience.

- Demonstrates strong leadership, motivation, and supervisory qualities.

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechatronics; advanced degree is a plus.

- Proficient in ASPICE and Functional Safety standards (ISO 26262).

- Experience utilizing requirements capture tools such as Siemens Polarion, DOORS, or similar systems.

- Ability to identify industry trends and develop technologies to address them effectively.

- Proven track record of creating and executing product development plans to achieve target objectives.

- Exceptional organizational skills, including task prioritization, multitasking, and time management techniques.

- Strong project management abilities with the capability to oversee multiple projects and tasks concurrently.

- Maintains a professional and composed demeanor under stressful situations.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.

- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Stay updated on new technologies that may enhance operations and provide recommendations accordingly.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project).
