Job Details

Our client is seeking a licensed mechanical engineer. This is a position for someone who is well-qualified to design HVAC/Mechanical systems and serves as a first point of contact for clients in a project management role. The types of projects available will be Commercial, K-12, Higher Education, Design-Build and Light Industrial. Our client's firm does work all over the state of Texas and occasionally out of state.

The successful candidate should be prepared for project management, construction cost estimating, submittal review, field observations, reviewing pay applications and significant interaction with clients. Candidate should also be familiar with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and able to work with a team of people from other disciplines, including Mechanical, Plumbing, Architecture, Structural and Civil.

The candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed to practice engineering in the state of Texas (EIT or PE)
  • 5 years of experience in HVAC system design
  • Experience in writing specifications
  • Familiar with the most recent building & energy codes including ASHRAE Standards
  • 5 years of experience with AutoCAD and REVIT software
  • Current valid Driver License and insurable driving record
  • Professional appearance and excellent communication skills

Preference will be given to candidates with the following additional qualifications:
  • Experienced in project management
  • Experience in Healthcare Design
  • Experience in DDC Controls and Control Strategies
  • LEED Certified for Building Design and Construction

Occasional job site visits will be necessary which require the ability to walk, stoop, bend and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
