Summary:
The position will report to the Director Technical Operations as a part of the Technical Operations Engineering team and will provide process engineering support to processing facilities in North Dakota and Wyoming. Primary focus includes working closely with Operations to provide day-to-day engineering and technical support. Additionally, the successful candidate will also analyze data to look to optimize and improve existing processes as well as execute capital projects.

Essential Functions:

Position provides process engineering support for operating facilities.
Scopes, cost estimates, contracts, procures equipment, and Manages projects.
Provide on-the-job training to less experienced engineering and operations staff.
Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering knowledge base and proficiencies.
Uses factual information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or safety standards.
Assists Director of Technical Operations, Engineering Managers, and/or Operations Personnel in process troubleshooting of gas plants, fractionators, terminals, pipelines, and other ET assets.
Analyze and improve existing processes to maximize productivity and reduce costs.
Maintain an effective working relationship with outside contractors and vendors.
Assists Director of Operations Engineering in process design of projects
Capable of using process simulation tools to model processes, consistent with organizational objectives.
Assists less experienced engineers in the organization and execution of small to medium sized capital projects.
Organize, plan and execute medium sized capital projects within budgets and schedules.
Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering and 3-6 years of relevant experience
Title conferred will be based on candidates years of relevant experience.
Must be familiar with all applicable codes and regulations including USDOT CFR 192 and 195, API, ASME, ASNT, OSHA, and NACE.
Utilize, understand, and adhere to contracts and agreements within scopes of work.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); good computer skills; the ability to interact well with property owners, municipal, state and federal agencies at all levels as well as all levels of and groups inside the organization.
Must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills and be able to accept constantly changing priorities.
Must be a team player and willing to assist outside of own discipline.
Ability to acquire new job knowledge and skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior Process Engineering experience in NGL industry
Experience using Process Engineering simulation software (Hysys, ProMax, etc.)

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

This position is required to carry a cell phone and is subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency response, extended work hours and/or work weeks.
Normal office working conditions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
Ability to travel is required ( 25%).
Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Candidate must have proven safe driving record and valid drivers license.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

The Engineer level requires a Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job related experience
The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline and 6-10 years of relevant job related experience
The Staff Engineer level requires Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline and 10+ years of relevant job related experience
The Principal Engineer level requires Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline and 12+ years of relevant job related experience with a strong preference for a PE license
