Whitman, Requardt & Associates is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic Building Design Group in Baltimore. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be a key player in completing the design and construction administration for small to medium-sized projects, as well as collaborating within larger design teams for substantial projects. We are looking for a mechanical engineer with knowledge of various mechanical system designs, including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing. Responsibilities:

  • Construction Documentation: Develop plans, sections, schedules, details, controls, cost estimates, and specifications for mechanical systems.
  • Engineering Design Analysis: Conduct mechanical system selection, energy and life cycle cost analysis, and ensure designs meet energy and sustainable design targets.
  • Team Engagement: Coordinate with other disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop calculations, system concepts, layouts, and designs.

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain Professional Engineer License in VA
  • U.S. Citizen is mandatory

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of a variety of mechanical system designs, including DX packaged systems, hydronic systems, chilled water plants, heating water plants, and plumbing.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Strong interdisciplinary coordination skills.
