The Position

Ohmite is currently searching for an Electrical Engineer, specialized in industrial controls related to monitoring, switching and sensing equipment as it pertains to power connections and motor controls. The ideal candidate will have experience working with these products in neutral grounding, dynamic braking, and / or load bank applications.

As a results oriented Electrical Engineer, you become an integral member of our team, working with other engineering disciplines to create new products, and in assisting with customer inquiries. Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in the hardware definition, selection, and development of controls/ switching/ metering and protection integral with Ohmite's high power resistor products.
  • Work closely with team of engineering disciplines to design new products and develop new product platforms.
  • Interface with all levels within the organization (Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Production, Testing) to understand application requirements and develop best in class products.
  • Ensure that high standards of reliability, quality, usability, and measurement are adhered to throughout each phase of product development.
  • Support the various stages of product development to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Partner with the marketing, engineering, and design teams to bring the product vision to life with prototypes and "mock-ups."

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

  • Minimum of five years' experience focused in the field of load bank or motor drives
  • Experience in testing or developing of simple or complex mechatronic systems and a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Passion for conceiving, creating and designing useful, innovative products
  • Experience identifying various business problems or product flaws and coming up with creative solutions
