Doppelmayr USA Inc is currently seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to work in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. The electrical engineer will be responsible for the development of electrical control system schematics & parts lists, and the specification of power distributions, electric motors, VFDs and related electrical components for various types of aerial ropeways. The ideal candidate will maintain a professional attitude while working with customers, authorities and international colleagues. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures design and implementation of control circuits (24 VDC and 575VAC and below) are compliant with applicable codes and standards (i.e. ANSI B77.1, Z98, NEC, etc.)
- Provides support as needed to the Customer Service department with troubleshooting and resources
- Establishes and maintains communication channels with key personnel in other Doppelmayr offices to promote efficient design that is consistent with global standards.
- Ensures that the company and internal department quality objectives are met.
- Performs electrical project engineering activities for projects with increasing complexity, commensurate with experience.
- Other tasks as circumstances dictate.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Clear understanding of PLC and relay logic control system design principles and practices
- Clear understanding of AC and DC power, control circuitry, and electrical circuit diagrams and symbols
- Understanding of PLC and HMI software and hardware integration
- Understanding of safety PLC and standard PLC programming practices
- Proficiency in InterCAD, E-Plan, or equivalent CAD software
- Familiarity with power distribution systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% from January to September and potentially up to 100% from September through December during field commissioning season
- Ability to productively work at heights in mountainous environments during any season.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with hydraulic system controls
- Ability to perform safety analysis of complex control circuits
- Familiarity with fiberoptic cabling
- Leadership and management skills
EDUCATION:
- Required
- BSEE or alternative engineering discipline with proven competency in the electrical discipline through work experience
- Preferred
- EIT Certification (passed FE Exam)
- Manufacturer's Training in automation hardware and software
- Manufacturer's Training in AC and DC drive systems
EXPERIENCE:
- 0-5 Years, preferably in control systems engineering
OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND CONSIDERATIONS:
- Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and be able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a sometimes high-pressure work environment.
- The Electrical Engineer will join the USA Electrical Engineering team and report directly to the team lead for project assignments
- This is a full time, in-office position
