Process Manufacturing Engineer 2412

Job Purpose

Design processes for safe and efficient weld department. Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize Weld production functions and new model launches.


Key Accountabilities

  • Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across manufacturing areas. Work to achieve 95% Process Efficiency. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques. Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets. Maintain process layout
  • Manage logistics plan for dept.'s part delivery & packaging
  • Regularly lead meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes (Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, NM, Packaging, or Logistics).
  • Perform time estimates for weld process, equipment loads, and develop Operation Standards. Support cycle time optimization
  • Maintain PDDA, G PAC V, OQ Flow linkage to New Model evaluations and build events
  • Make plans for New Model/Mass Pro change process training.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste within weld operations and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
  • Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
  • Support New Model Events. Forecast design impact to department. Incorporate change points into process design. Identify concerns and countermeasure before mass production.
  • Develop Plans and Schedules for projects. Set timelines and detailed activities. Hold meetings with cross functional engineering groups to ensure completeness.
  • Project support for all items impacting Weld department's Associate Process.
  • Collect feedback from the production floor and address their concerns.


Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing).
  • COLLEGE DEGREE PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
  • 0-6 years of experience
  • Excel VBA, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service. Strong continuous improvement mindset; MS office; problem solving/decision making skills; project management capabilities

Workstyle

  • Generally first shift production hours, occasional split/second shift support required.
  • 0-5 hours OT weekly.
  • 50% manufacturing environment, 50% office environment.
