Job Description:

Direct hire opening with our client for a Process Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical or metallurgical engineering background along with a minimum of 3 years of pipe/steel industry process engineering experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing and enhancing finishing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, utilizing your expertise to drive improvements and contribute to the success of our operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze current finishing processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Design, implement, and oversee modifications to existing finishing processes, including surface treatments, coatings, and inspections.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions to improve overall production performance.

Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process enhancements or equipment upgrades.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for finishing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Provide technical support and training to production staff to ensure proper execution of finishing processes.

Monitor process parameters and performance metrics to identify trends, anticipate problems, and implement preventive measures.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for finishing operations.

Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends related to finishing processes and materials.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the piping and/or steel industry, with a focus on finishing processes.

CNC Programming experience

Strong understanding of surface treatments, coatings, and quality control methods.

Project management skills for process improvement and/or product development

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to ensuring product quality and compliance with specifications.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
