Job Description:

Under the direction of the Equipment Engineering Manager, the Equipment Electrical Engineer is responsible for all equipment related electrical and software development, research, design, testing, application and improvement. The position will use 2D and 3D CAD Modeling software to develop electrical designs and drawings/schematics for wiring harnesses, control systems, electric drive components, electrical connectors and related systems using verbal instructions, customer specifications, sales staff and other Engineering data. The position will also use programming software for the improvement and development of PLC's and user interface design that integrate with and control the equipment's functions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES :

1. Make various drawings using Solid Edge 3D and AutoCAD 2D software following standard manufacturing and engineering procedures.

2. Design new products as assigned by the Equipment Engineering Manager.

3. Design, test and implement new and/or improved wiring harnesses for machinery.

4. Design, program, integrate and test PLC and/or HMI control systems to control the equipment's functions.

5. Integration, development and programming of robotic systems.

6. Follow the product life cycle from research and design to prototyping and testing to implementation in production, and to the final state of performance in the field.

7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers and internal personnel.

8. Specify correct materials within the scope of standard stocking inventory.

9. Update existing drawings as necessary due to changes in design or manufacturing requests.

10. Complete Engineering Change Notice and circulate documentation as needed.

11. Complete all phases of drawings and schematics from small detailed parts to large assemblies.

12. Reduce costs and waste on existing and new designs.

13. Work on Operator Manuals, both new and existing or other literature as needed by the Equipment Engineering Manager.

14. Develop and maintain part numbers with all necessary information in order to purchase, make and use the parts.

15. Enter and update Bills of Material and Manufacturing Routes in SAP manufacturing software.

16. Provide monthly project update reports.

17. Develop and present quarterly project presentations.

18. Maintain a neat, clean, organized and safe work space.

19. Stay current with emerging technologies and training.

20. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required by the Equipment Engineering Manager.

21. Limited travel to customer location to provide assistance.

22. Be able to travel internationally in rare cases that it might be required.
