The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the detailed design phase of engineering projects, including the creation of process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), sizing of instrumentation, conducting mass and energy balances, and performing modeling and simulation activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, with extensive experience in detailed design and a proven track record of successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the detailed design phase of engineering projects, including the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

Size and specify instrumentation, control valves, and other process equipment based on process requirements and client specifications.

Conduct mass and energy balances to optimize process performance and ensure compliance with project objectives.

Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) to model and simulate process operations, assess equipment performance, and troubleshoot process issues.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers, to ensure integration of process design with other engineering disciplines.

Review and interpret engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and vendor data sheets to ensure accuracy and completeness of design deliverables.

Participate in design reviews and technical meetings with clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies to address design-related issues and ensure alignment with project requirements.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers as needed.

Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities by providing technical assistance and resolving design-related issues during project execution.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or related field.

Minimum 8 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on detailed design.

Proficiency in process engineering software tools, including process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).

Strong understanding of process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process instrumentation and control systems.

Experience conducting mass and energy balances, sizing equipment, and performing hydraulic calculations.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
