Electromechanical Engineer
Sole Electrical Engineer working on a team of Mechanical Engineers working cross functionally.
About the Role
Provide engineering level capabilities and execute on product development for electromechanical
specialty connectors. A strong mechanical aptitude is desired. Works from business case and new
product request information to develop products.
Responsibilities
R&D for specialty connector products and assemblies.
Instrumentation development (RFID, flow sensors, etc.)
Integrate electrical controls to existing mechanical products.
Generation of mechanical, electrical, embedded systems
Electric Motor / gear analysis and screw drive development.
Assist in specifying the controls and electrical components to ensure the workability and
manufacturing practicality of product designs.
Testing, analysis, support, and training for new and existing products.
Reliability engineering for test parameter development.
Prepare materials and documentation and conduct design reviews as required to aid in
manufacturing.
Participate in cross-functional teams to improve product concepts, product design, and quality.
Provide project management and/or project task coordination on assigned projects and R&D of
leading-edge technologies as they relate to component product applications.
Benchmark competitive design/process, materials, and function. Research and recommend tooling
processes and material selections.
BOM accuracy, releasing drawings, and keeping schedule on track.
Prepare documentation and conduct design reviews and release meetings as required.
Assist in guidance of lower-level design engineers and manufacturing team.
Requirements
B.S. in Engineering
3+ years of experience in Electro-Mechanical Design
Experience in development of mechanical test systems.
Microcontroller experience
Hardware and software design with communication protocols
Programming in C and/or assembly, Python
PCB layout experience
Mechanical aptitude and experience in systems integration
Project lead experience
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and processes
Computer proficiency including CAD - preferably Autodesk Inventor Series CAD.
