Mine Surveyor Opportunity to work with a developing underground mine in a large open cut copper mine Exposure to multiple groups within Kennecott Work in a global company with broad opportunities - Bingham Canyon Mine About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for a Mine Surveyor to join the Rio Tinto Kennecott Underground team to work with a developing underground copper mine. This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to develop their mine survey and technical skills. Working a shift rotation schedule and reporting to the Senior Engineer - Mining, you will: Support the mine technical team by gathering and interpreting survey data using a variety of methods Update and maintain mine survey data including all mine as-builts and maps Prepare standard reports and complete documentation related to survey and drill and blast monitoring work Ensures mine plans are executed to meet mine design requirements Establishes survey and drilling control in the field as required Establishes and maintains survey control Measure the volumes and tonnages blasted Complete down hole surveys of drill holes Support the mine execution team by maintaining and updating all mine workings What you'll bring To succeed in this role, you will have: 3D drafting software experience (Deswik, Vulcan, etc.) Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels Ability to work independently, self-starter Meticulous attention to detail It will also be beneficial if you have: Previous experience in underground stoping mines Intermediate computer competency (Excel, Word, SAP, etc.) What we offer We are committed to providing our employees with a generous benefits package.
